In the course of Aleksandar Rakic's preparation for his fight in Las Vegas against Anthony Smith, we were able to visit the UFC Performance Institute (UPI) several times.

Like Disneyland for children, the UFC PI is for me a place where the heart rises.

On two levels you will find everything you need for high class competition preparation, both martial arts specific and for Strength & Conditioning training.

A beautifully designed area with airbikes, rowing machines and a grassy area invites you to train in the basement. Barbells and other weights are more than enough and also the famous Keiser machines in several variants.

The upper area has a large open space for martial arts, as well as a small UFC cage and boxing ring. That's all it really needs.

In addition to the traditional training area, the UFC PI also features a small laboratory for performance testing and a dedicated physical therapy department, where Experienced Heater Linden also helps UFC fighters recover from injuries.

Meal prep for the fighters in camp and top trained nutritionists round out the whole experience.

A final highlight for me was meeting UFC legend Forrest Griffin. Forrest is after his MMA career in the UFC PI as Vice President of Athletic Development.

The visit was really worth it! If you ever go there, please note, you can only enter with a UFC fighter by appointment.

Your Richard
